Kazatomprom holds corporate meeting on occupational safety
Kazatomprom, a leading global uranium producer, recently held its XXV final corporate meeting on occupational safety in Shymkent. The event was attended by representatives of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, government agencies, members of the Board of Directors and the Management Board of Kazatomprom, and first managers and employees of subsidiaries and affiliates.
During the meeting, the participants discussed topical issues of labour protection, the environment, industrial, radiation and nuclear safety, the results of occupational safety in 2022, and identified key tasks and plans for 2023. The Company has been holding final corporate meetings on occupational safety since its formation, and this year’s meeting marked the 25th anniversary of the event.
CEO of Kazatomprom, Yerzhan Mukanov, emphasized the company’s continued commitment to developing a culture of safety, leadership, and full involvement of employees in occupational safety and environmental issues. The conscious and responsible attitude of each employee to this issue will help the company to further improve the level of occupational safety at its enterprises.
Samruk-Kazyna JSC’s CEO, Almasadam Satkaliyev, noted that Kazatomprom has achieved certain results in the field of safety culture development and is the first portfolio company to implement the global concept of zero injuries, where the safety of employees, assets, and environmental protection is an integral part of everyday life and brought to the forefront.
Managing Director of Samruk-Kazyna JSC for Public Relations, social and labour relations and labour protection, Gibrat Auganov, also emphasized the company’s commitment to improving the state of occupational safety. The Company has passed the second supervisory audit and confirmed compliance with the requirements of ISO international standards in the field of occupational safety, health and environmental management.
During the meeting, Kazatomprom also announced the results of the competition “The best enterprise in the field of occupational safety” and named the winners of its CEO award. The winners were recognized for their high performance in ensuring safety in their work.
