Dear participants of MINEX Kazakhstan Forum
Please be advised that the President of Kazakhstan declared a national state of emergency in the Republic of Kazakhstan due to the spread of coronavirus. Starting from 8.00 am on 16 August 2020 (Nur-Sultan time), restrictions were introduced to prohibit entry to and departure from the territory of Kazakhstan for the citizens of Kazakhstan and foreign nationals. A visa is required to enter Kazakhstan. This is a recent change, due to the coronavirus outbreak. Applicants must also present a medical certificate confirming that they do not have a coronavirus infection, issued within 48 hours prior to their visit to the consular office. Failure to present such a certificate will result in the cancellation of the Kazakh visa. You should contact your nearest Embassy of Kazakhstan for further information. As of 19 October 2020, most foreign nationals are currently being prevented from traveling to Kazakhstan. On 19 October 2020, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin chaired a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission (IAC) on the measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in Kazakhstan. In accordance with the instruction of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, additional measures were considered to counter COVID-19, in particular, those that would prohibit the activities of banquet halls and the organisation of major events. Furthermore, all activities including conferences and exhibitions are also being suspended until further notice.
